# Blockquote audit scope and report comparison

Product behavior checked 11 October 2026. Published by Blockquote.
This document describes audit behavior. It contains no scan result or claim of improved search visibility.

## Fetched-page scope

Blockquote checks the fetched HTML, parsed content and page context.
The resulting score describes those checks. It does not measure search indexing or AI citations.
Read the [check catalog](https://blockquote.io/checks) for each check's purpose and applicability.

## Article applicability and presence

The Article check applies when the classifier labels the page as content.
Other page classifications make this check N/A. That is an applicability decision, not a pass.

For an applicable page, this check looks for Article, NewsArticle or BlogPosting JSON-LD.
It requires a nonempty headline, an author value and a nonempty datePublished.
This presence check does not compare those values with the visible page or establish their truth.
Its predicate does not require dateModified. A truthful article still needs accurate dates and authorship.

## Partial coverage

A truncated fetch can produce a partial scan. Read the original report's coverage and truncation fields.
For partial scans, passing and already-N/A checks remain unchanged.
Other failed checks become N/A and lose their suggested fixes, with two exceptions:
content-direct-answer and content-definition-opener retain their failed findings.
Consequently, a score difference can reflect changed coverage rather than a repaired page.

## Comparison limits

When report schema versions differ, the comparison marks the methodology change and withholds numeric score deltas.
Category deltas are also withheld when either compared category has no applicable checks.

Matching versions do not establish matching coverage or returned page content.
The comparison does not automatically withhold deltas for changed partial status, scan tier, page classification or final destination.
Its summary includes scan times, requested and final URLs, report versions and page classification.
It omits some original-report fields, including partial status and scan tier.
Keep both original reports and inspect those fields before attributing a change to a repair.

## Suggested repairs

Generated Article snippets can contain author and publication-date placeholders.
Replace them with verified facts and check agreement with the visible article.
Content suggestions can use bounded page context. They remain drafts that need factual and editorial review.
Neither a template nor a model instruction proves that a suggested statement is accurate.

Use the [developer documentation](https://blockquote.io/docs) for the public API contract.
Recheck these limits when the scanner or reporting behavior changes.
